1. Acceptance
By connecting a Stripe account and creating listings on minShelf, you agree to this Seller Agreement in addition to the general Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not list items for sale.
2. Fees
- Platform fee: minShelf charges a 2.9% fee on the final sale price of each completed transaction.
- Payment processing: Stripe charges approximately 2.9% + 30p per transaction. These fees are deducted from your payout.
- No listing fees: Creating listings is free. Fees are only charged on completed sales.
3. Seller obligations
- Accurate descriptions: All listings must accurately describe the item, including species/mineral identification, condition, size, weight, and any treatments or enhancements.
- Authentic photographs: Photos must be of the actual item being sold. Stock photos or photos of similar items are not permitted.
- Shipping: You must ship items within 5 business days of receiving payment. Provide tracking information where available.
- Packaging: Items must be packaged securely and appropriately for the specimen type to prevent damage during transit.
- Communication: Respond to buyer enquiries within 48 hours.
4. Prohibited items
You must not list any items prohibited under the Terms of Service, including but not limited to: CITES-protected specimens without permits, illegally exported cultural heritage items, radioactive materials, conflict minerals, stolen property, or counterfeit/misrepresented items.
5. Legal compliance
- Export/import laws: You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable export and import regulations in your jurisdiction and the buyer's jurisdiction.
- Tax obligations: You are responsible for reporting income and collecting/remitting any applicable taxes (including VAT/GST) in your jurisdiction. minShelf does not provide tax advice.
- Business registration: If your selling activity constitutes a business under local law, you are responsible for obtaining any required licences or registrations.
6. Disputes & returns
- If a buyer opens a dispute, you must respond within 48 hours with evidence (tracking information, photos, communication records).
- Items that are materially not as described must be accepted for return at the seller's expense.
- minShelf may mediate disputes but is not obligated to do so.
7. Platform rights
- minShelf reserves the right to remove any listing that violates this agreement or the Terms of Service.
- Repeated violations may result in suspension or termination of your seller account.
- minShelf may update this agreement with 30 days notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
